Stayed here on a two night break in the garden suite. The hotel and all the staff were fantastic. We had two garden rooms which were immaculate, great size and a fabulous bathroom. We visited the thermal spa which was great and each had a treatment which we all loved, the spa girls were all lovely too. First class!

We had a light lunch before spa, dinner in the evening and full Scottish breakfast in the morning and you could not fault any of it! The portion sizes were great! Restaurant staff very friendly and attentive too!

And lastly a big shout out to Moira who gave us the biggest laugh in the morning with the stupid spelling of my name!! Room immaculatefood fantasticservice great very friendlyspa lovely and treatments very goodfantastic chill out experience we were with another couple and we all had a great time. Treatments were nice and very chill out, all staff in every area were extremely efficient and friendly and helpful x Dumfries house was lovely walk house was not opened at the time we were there but stunning grounds our friends live locally and advised this is prince of Wales trust fund and very well worth a visit insideapparently furniture etc.

We are just back from an overnight spa package and had a wonderful, relaxing experience. From the moment we walked through the front door greeted by the smell of the lovely spa products we were made to feel special. Our room was upgraded to a garden suite and was spotless. The customer service was tremendous A trip to the thermal suite is a must, what a relaxing space.

Thanks to all at the Lochside for a lovely break. Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting! Staff need serious customer service training, the restaurant leaves alot to be desired!

Had to ask 4 different waiters for ketchup and still waited over 10mins! Had ordered the braised steak which was as tough as old boots, had been grilled then slow cooked for "16 hours"! The mash was rank and the roast potatoes were frozen Given half a daiquiri to make up for it Upon booking we requested a twin room but were given a double room which was two single beds pushed together!!

Spa was wonderful but is not really as advertised Breakfast buffet was lovely however the cooked part was cheap and nasty. Staff took over 10 minutes to take our cooked order and even then it was only because we asked, seemed more interested in setting up for the next service than the customers.

Wouldn't stay again but would maybe use the spa, you would have to pay me to eat in the restaurant again! We stayed here on an itison deal, and we upgraded to a garden room. This was our first visit to the hotel and we loved it. Beautiful setting, friendly and attentive staff, excellent food and relaxing atmosphere.

I felt like they had buttered and jammed two slices of bread together grilled it then covered it That being said the sticky toffee pudding looked nice and our mains were amazing. Had a family lunch.

Reasonable menu for a small hotel in a village. All the meals were enjoyed, especially the soup and puddings. Very friendly and efficient service. Tremendous views over the sea to the west of Islay. Seemed to take the coronavirus obligations seriously Would have no hesitation in returning. This is the best restaurant in Bowmore with good quality local produce used for the dishes. Service was very efficient by friendly staff.

The salmon dishes were amazing as was the incredible lamb casserole. Great views from the restaurant across the sea loch. Would definitely Just had a fantastic stay at the Lochside. Got the best view on Islay for sure!

This is a great wee hotel with a really nice vibe. The staff were really friendly and the food was excellent. Thoroughly recommended! These are difficult times due to covidthe menu was limitedthe standard of the food offered was poor. I had a pint of lager which was undrinkable. The staff were friendly and welcoming but I will not be coming back.

Whisky is good value, as is the beer. Good view of the loch.

Really tasty food and very cheerful service. We eat here a couple of time when of Islay. The food was quite good, but not into the outstanding category, but was some of the better fare we had on Islay. We had the good fortune to be here on a Friday night with live music from some locals, which was really excellent. The accordian and fiddle playing was most accomplished, and everyone had a good time dancing a few reels.

The associated bar Duffy's has some of the best whisky selection on the island, and I got to try a Port Ellen malt without breaking the bank. The food is good enough but not quite gastro. What is good and world beating is the view.

A seat by the window overlooking the harbour as the sun sets is pure magic. We arrived on Islay late on a Sunday afternoon. After a quick walk around Bowmore, our choices were limited to Indian and the Lochside Hotel. We called into the Lochside Hotel's pub next door for a pint and to preview their menu as well as the Indian.

The landlord was very friendly and told us all the places that we could dine, which I thought was great since he potentially could be giving business away.

We were interested to hear that the Harbour Inn was closed that night because they were having their Christmas Doo at the Lochside Hotel - that was enough endorsement for us! We ordered Cullen Skink, 2 Cock-a-leekie soups and the feta salad to start - all were large portions.

Our mains were salmon, penne pasta, turkey and scallops. I was tempted by the scallops, but thought there would only be 4 or 5 on the plate. It turns out there were at least 10 king scallops and I wished I'd ordered them! The only issue we had was a long delay between seeing the pudding menu and actually being able to order them, but that may have been due to the large table of the Harbour Inn staff that were having their Christmas meal.

We definitely would go back! Cork in our wine, which the manager refused to change. Then they charged us for an extra beer and 4! To get this off our check we had to have a long irritated discussion with the young manager for the evening. But the cheesecake was good Staff are very welcoming and attentive and nothing is too much bother.Eaten here twice this week, both times the food was fantastic and the staff amazing.
